Independent Social Care Needs Assessments:

Regardless of your income or savings you are entitled to ask the Local Authority for an assessment of your social care needs, this assessment can be completed either in person or over the telephone. Many Local Authorities also have a self-assessment service which can be accessed through their website.

So, what are the benefits of paying for a social care needs assessment?

Our face to face Care Needs Assessment can, if necessary, be arranged within 24-hours of referral, for people living within Leicestershire and surrounding borders, and our telephone consultation is free.

As Independent Social Workers, we are not subject to the same time constraints and potential conflicting resource demands. All of our assessments are carried out in person and at a time suitable to fit in with the person.

As part of the assessment process, we are able to identify eligibility for continuing health care support and/or nursing care funding. If eligible, we can support people through the NHS referral processes to access funding or support them to meet their identified health needs.

Because we are able to provide comprehensive needs-based assessment and understand eligibility criteria for health and social care services, our independent social work reports can be used to challenge existing funding decisions made by NHS and/or the Local Authority or provide evidence to inform decisions required to be made through the Court of Protection.
