Advocacy
We provide a Relevant Person Representative Service for people living in residential, nursing and hospital settings who are subject to the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards. Our service places the person’s wellbeing and needs at the forefront of any decisions and takes into consideration the person’s past and present wishes.
Our representatives support the person in all matters relating to the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, including, if appropriate, triggering a review, using an organisation’s complaints procedures on the person’s behalf or making an application to the Court of Protection.
Our representatives monitor any conditions attached to the Standard Authorisation to deprive a person of their liberty in residential, nursing and hospital care settings and seek, at all times, to challenge restrictive care practices.
